Across many sectors, people are living longer, staying healthier, and continuing to contribute well beyond what was once considered the conventional retirement age. And many of us want to keep working—not because we have to, but because we still have something to offer. But a quiet truth is holding back this wave of older workers from staying engaged in the workforce: it’s not ageism, as commonly assumed. More often, it’s our cost.
