Tommy Nielsen Appointed New APTI Chairman

Independent Trustee Company’s legal officer, Tommy Nielsen, was elected chairman of the Association of Pension Trustees in Ireland (APTI) at a plenary meeting of all members on 1st September. 

APTI is the industry body for providers of small self-administered pension schemes. 

In his acceptance speech, Tommy acknowledged that a busy time lies ahead; the Pensions Authority has launched a process aimed at reducing the number of pension schemes in Ireland. He said that APTI will aim to be at the forefront of this process through recurring interaction with the Pensions Authority and the Revenue.
